Connected Voices at COP19

Want to know what we got up to at COP19?

Well there’s no better place to start than this video:

What else did we get up to?

The Exhibition Stand

At each COP talks there is an area for organisations working on climate change to have a stand, and negotiators are able to (and do!) walk around the stands to find out more and talk to the people there about what they do. This year Connected Voices had a stand featuring photo of young people displaying their messages, flyers and our infographic. Here’s David at the stall!

Chatting to Ahmad

David also spent a day with the UN General Secretary’s Envoy on Youth, Ahmad Alhindawi, talking about the importance of increasing representation at the talks, and about what Connected Voices is doing to ensure that. In an interview with RTCC, Ahmad said

Ahmad“I met with Connected Voices, a youth organisation, this morning. All that they are worried about – how we can make sure that our colleagues, our friends, youth activists in the global south are well represented next year? And this is very inspiring, and very encouraging for the youth climate change movement”

The Action

As you saw in the video, the team organised an ‘action’ in Warsaw to display the messages young people had sent in to negotiators as they arrived at the centre. Here’s some pictures from the action, and some of the messages we showed:
